Personal Travel Managers Enjoy A Taste of Thailand Ahead of National Conference

The TravelManagers’ national conference will be held in Bangkok between 19-22 August and as a pre-causer, personal travel managers experienced an interactive training session courtesy of Thai Airways and Tourism Authority of Thailand.

The 16 Sydney based personal travel managers along with New South Wales Business Partnership Managers David McCarthy and Julie Anderson enjoyed an airfare update from Thai Airways sales executives’ Angela Tanis and Jane Allwright with product training from Sherly Handjojo, Tourism Authority of Thailand’s’ Marketing Manager for Australia.

“It was a great opportunity to learn more about the Thai Airways special fares and their free stopover offer. I came away from the training learning something that I didn’t know before and that’s what makes a good training session,” says Maria Furnari, representative for Panania.

The personal travel managers were certainly impressed by some of the latest attractions that Thailand has to offer.

“It was great to get an update on the most popular destinations but what I found really exciting was to learn about some of the unique ‘local community’ experiences that are available. More and more we are finding clients are looking for a rewarding holiday experience where they immerse themselves within the destination and live like a local,” says Danielle Goncalves representative for Erskineville.

The personal travel managers indulged in a delicious Thai lunch following the exclusive masterclass training session.

“The lunch consisting of fish cakes, satay sticks and chicken and prawn pad thai was the perfect way to end a great training session. These Thai favourites have definitely whet my appetite for our upcoming conference in Bangkok I can’t wait to sample true Thai street food,” says Janice Lee representative for Surry Hills.

For Tanis, the chance to give the personal travel managers a taste of Thailand before they venture to the destination was an opportunity not to be missed.

“Our goal was to excite and inform the personal travel managers about our country before their upcoming conference in Bangkok. It was great to personally meet some of the personal travel managers and provide them with an exclusive update on Thai Airways and a treat them with a taste of Thailand with some popular Thai dishes.”
