Monday 22 July 2019 – Every year, the Australian travel industry gathers to celebrate AFTA’s National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA): a glittering night that celebrates excellence in the travel industry. TravelManagers were among the big winners at this year’s event, scooping two major awards on Saturday night in the Grand Ballroom of Sydney’s International Convention Centre.

Wednesday 12 June 2019 – Twice a year, every year, personal travel managers (PTMs) from all over Australia come together for a series of state-based meetings, organised by TravelManagers’ National Partnership Office (NPO), that are designed to keep attendees updated on the direction of the company. Throughout the course of the day, participants gain insights as to what is happening at NPO, hear from suppliers and, perhaps most importantly in a network of 570 home-based consultants, enjoy opportunities to connect with their colleagues.

Wednesday 03 April 2019 – When Cruiseco’s annual national conference took place in Auckland the weekend before last, bringing together more than 250-member travel agencies from across Australia and New Zealand, one of the highlights of the three-day event was the Awards Night, which was held within the grand setting of the city’s War Memorial Museum. TravelManagers was represented at the awards by personal travel manager (PTM), Caroline Cannon, who accepted three major awards on the company’s behalf.

Wednesday 27 February 2019 – Travel industry professionals from around Australia and New Zealand came together on Saturday night to attend the cruise industry’s “night of nights”: the 17th annual Cruise Industry Awards Australasia, or CLIAs, which were held at Sydney’s Star Event Centre. Among those attending was TravelManagers’ Nicole Edgar, who was delighted to receive the award for ‘Home-Based/Mobile Agent of the Year Australia’.

After just two years with TravelManagers, personal travel manager (PTM) Jo Patton from Ulladulla has just been confirmed as one of four finalists for the industry’s prestigious 2018 Avis Travel Agents Scholarship. Making a major career change can be a daunting prospect, but TravelManagers’ National Partnership Office (NPO) works hard to ensure that the transition process for newly-minted personal travel managers (PTMs) is a smooth one, beginning with a three-day induction course. The most recent of these induction courses was remarkable for its geographical spread, with the eight available places being claimed by PTMs from every state except New South Wales.
